Literary Lockdown

In January 2021, the Isle of Man Arts Council invited local residents to submit pieces of creative writing, written during or inspired by lockdown to their “Literary Lockdown” project.

The brief was a poem or creative writing of up to 250 words following the themes of four prompts: home, ritual, community and gratitude.

All the works submitted to the project are included in this book, which celebrates the talented local writers who crafted them into a lasting literary legacy of lockdown life in the Isle of Man.
